PEI resin 

Polyether Imide (PEI for short) is an amber transparent solid. It has inherent flame retardancy and low smoke without adding any additives. The oxygen index is 47%, the combustion grade is UL94-V-0, and the density is 1.28~1.42g/cm3. 


PEI has strong high-temperature stability, and even non reinforced PEI still has good toughness and strength. Therefore, utilizing the superior thermal stability of PEI can be used to manufacture high-temperature and heat-resistant devices. 


PEI has excellent mechanical properties, electrical insulation properties, radiation resistance, high and low temperature resistance, and wear resistance, and can be transmitted through microwaves.

The glass transition temperature is very high, reaching 215 ℃. PEI also has low shrinkage and good isotropic mechanical properties.
Adding glass fiber, carbon fiber, or other fillers can achieve the purpose of strengthening and modifying; It can also form heat-resistant polymer alloys with other engineering plastics, and can be used for a long time at working temperatures of -160~180 ℃.
As an amorphous thermoplastic polyether Imide, PEI resin combines high performance and excellent processing characteristics, and combines high heat resistance with high strength, modulus and extensive chemical corrosion resistance.

 

Product Application

Replacing metal manufacturing of fiber optic connectors can optimize component structure, simplify its manufacturing and assembly steps, and maintain more accurate dimensions. Used in the automotive industry, such as for manufacturing high-temperature connectors, producing high-power headlights and indicator lights, sensors for controlling the external temperature of car cabins, and sensors for controlling air and fuel mixtures. It can also be used as a vacuum pump impeller that is resistant to high-temperature lubrication and erosion, a ground glass joint (socket) for distillers operating at 180 ℃, and a reflector for non illuminated anti fog lamps.

 PEI is an amber transparent solid with inherent flame retardancy and low smoke without any additives. It has an oxygen index of 47% and a combustion level of UL94-V-0.
The density of PEI is 1.28-1.42g/cm3, the glass transition temperature is 215 ℃, and the thermal deformation temperature is 198-208 ℃. It can be used for a long time at 160-180 ℃, and the maximum allowable intermittent use temperature is 200 ℃.
PEI has excellent mechanical strength, electrical insulation performance, radiation resistance, high and low temperature resistance, fatigue resistance, and formability; Adding glass fiber, carbon fiber, or other fillers can achieve the purpose of reinforcement and modification.
